to discuss Everything you see in this room, or in fact in this building, was left here by the previous tenants. So you won't find much that pertains to me, yet I prefer these random appurtenances. Their diversity keeps me from being limited to a single mood of reflection; and in this laboratory, whose resources I have systematically inventoried (with the opposite of the conventional valuation, of course), my imagination is less inclined to measure its steps.
