For Rent
1061 olieverf potlood 65 x 57 (2023-2024)

The Greco painting is not the only painting it has. It has Modersohn and Vandenberg as well.

Les sentences de cendre, a 1994 oil on wood, that reddish thing near the border to the left, is the remaining part of a series of postcards that ended up on the table of Navas, Sebastian Navas, a Malaguenian painter who became a more or less close relative when I got to Malaga in 1987. His work had a touch of transavanguardia, a rather popular phenomenon in certain parts of Europe those days. We used to play pool in a Malaga centro joint, Pub Terral, Declan Grant, Navas and a gang of friends with big moustaches. Mario. Yeah. Right. Someone called Mario, he did translation work, English to Spanish market, had a quite horny and hairy thing beneath his nosebone. And beside that an adorable girlfriend. Her picture right in front of me. What I meant, But what I meant to say, what I meant to say is, Navas got the remaining part of the Vandenberg postcard series. He had never heard of Philippe Vandenberg.

The Greco painting is a portrait of Fray Hortensio Felix Paravicino. It used to be one of my favourite paintings. It is on top of a volume with works by Otto Modersohn.
